  • Chilling!

This was quite a chilling thriller. For a debut it is excellent. I was pleased with the writing style and I thought that the police procedural was well showcased. There is not a lot emotion, depth or character’s development, regardless, I was totally immersed in the storyline from the very beginning. There are some gruesome scenes that may not please some readers (and one scene of animal cruelty - a cat being kicked against a wall). Although I enjoyed the storyline, I did not find it that original, as while reading I found some scenes, dialogues and situations similar to other books that I have read (“Silence of the Lambs”, “The Alienist”, “Irene”, “13”... just to name a few), or at least that’s the impression I had. I also learned something new: I have never heard of “hybristophilia” (people who are sexually aroused and attracted to people who have committed cruel, gruesome crimes, for example, murder and rape). Crazy or desperation? Overall, this was very entertaining and I hope that her next book will give us more details about the main characters, especially the excellent DI Angelica Henley.

  • The Jig Saw Man

Great story and characters. Keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to find out what happens next. Most of the chapters are short, so the story moves at a good pace. Quick read with a very intense ending.

  • A very well crafted thriller

Set in London, the plot centres on DI Anjelica Henley and her trainee partner Salim. Someone is murdering jurors from the trial of Peter Olivier, a serial killer, and Anjelica and Salim are investigating these "copycat" murders. Then Olivier escapes from prison, and the hunt is on to find both him and the copycat murderer. "The Jigsaw Man" is an exciting read from beginning to end.
