Creepy and cool steampunk ghost story

Creepy in the best ways, The Kavanagh House kept me reading late into the night. The steampunk setting, with its haunting Gothic feel, made this a ghost story unlike any other I’ve read. Protagonists Parker and Mason work well together and I read anxiously along as they rely on each other’s special skills to figure out the puzzles and mysteries. The marvelous yet threatening house is an intriguing character all its own. Tension builds jumping between journals from the past to dangers in the present, culminating in some frightening scenes when the ghost has had enough of the intruders. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series to find out more about this mechanized city and its maniacal inventor!
