    Wonderful Story and Great Characters!

Another great one by Barbara Ankrum! This is the 3rd book by Ms. Ankrum that I've had the good fortune to read and I am fast becoming a fan. Reese is a drunken, disillusioned, former Texas Ranger and Grace is an idealistic lover of dime western novels, from Virginia and on a mission to rescue her brother from a Mexican prison. This story is action packed, romantic, and will have you laughing at some of the conversations between Grace and Reese. The secondary characters are very colorful and add so much to this well written story of a woman's determination to save one man, which in turn leads to the redemption and love of another man. I received this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for an honest review.

    This is a great read

One thing I love about Barbara Ankrums writing is that you are right there with the characters. The time frame of what is happening is now. There is no break in what is going on. This is what makes me not want to put the book down, because I need to know what happens next. There is none of this "6 weeks later" or "several months later" which for me is the clue to put the book down and go walk the dog or go start dinner, etc,. sort of like a commercial break if you were to be watching television. Makes me loose focus and sometimes interest. Though the character development is always fantastic in this authors arsenal of traits, I found it a little difficult to visualize the extremely abrasive character of the hero that I read about at the beginning of the book to soften to the heroine by the end. The severe differences weren't too believable by books end , however I still enjoyed this book immensely.
