    Nontraditional

This was a hard book to get into. The narrative format is nontraditional, which contributed to my difficulty in losing myself in the story. The fantastical nature and occasional historical error (artistic license?) were distracting. Once I made it past the halfway mark it picked up a little, or at least I was able to fall into the story more completely. Doesn't have a traditional "happy ending" either, though it fits well with the story.

    The Last Romanov

A very engaging story . The reader does not want the take to end.

    Une belle lecture

Un peu déroutant au début étant donné les nombreux noms russes. L'auteure nous transporte efficacement dans le monde fastueux, attachant et déchirant de la famille Romanov. Une belle lecture.

    The last Romanov

Good moments , but still disappointing. Chaotic and somewhat disjointed. It was like watching through a fog.

    The Last Romanov

I thoroughly enjoyed this quasi historical novel about a young and later old woman who became part of Czar Nicolas II's family and court. I lived the way the author moves between the past and the present in telling the story. Descriptions are vivid and colorful. I was engrossed in the story and finished it in two sittings. The author is quite a good story teller.
