  • A quick, entertaing second chance romance.

The Last Rule of Makeups is the third book in Nina Crespo's Breakup Bash series and features Cori, who, after being dumped by her long-term boyfriend Kevin attends a breakup bash with friends Alexa and Nat, and decides that the best way to get over her ex is to get under someone else. And that someone else happens to be Grey an ex she let get away. But one night with him isn't enough and soon Cori finds herself in danger of making the same mistakes with Grey as she did before. And it certainly was a satisfying story. That was fast-paced and easy to read, and frankly, I was engaged throughout. So, if you're looking for a quick, second chance romance that's uncomplicated and entertaining, you should definitely check The Last Rule of Makeups out. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**

  • a pleasing four-star read

The Last Rule of Makeups by Nina Crespo a pleasing four-star read. This is number three in the Breakup Bash series, but they can be read as a stand-alone as I haven’t read all of the previous stories only one and I don’t feel like I missed anything. Cori Ross was such a complex woman, she has been burned before and let down by her ex, can another ex-relight the fire in her? Can she do the same for him? As he just isn’t the same man who left her behind. Can they help each other and find who the need to be? I enjoyed this one, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous one, but it was still fun and flirty, but I just found it to be a little too flirty, it could have done with more storyline and less action. I am sure lots and lots of people will love this story, and I really did enjoy it, it just didn’t hit the spot I expected it to.

  • Entertaining

4 Star review of The Last Rule of Makeups by Nina Crespo Nina Crespo is a relatively new author to me. The Last Rule of Makeups is not a particularly long book but Ms. Crespo packed a fair bit into it. This is Cori and Grey’s second chance at love story and what an entertaining read it was. Having been recently dumped by her boyfriend, Cori is out celebrating her new found single status with her friends. The last thing she expects is to bump in to another ex boyfriend Grey. The chemistry between Cori and Grey is just as intense as it used to be, the only thing that broke them up was that they were both going in different directions. The relationship between Cori and Grey is a complex one. When they broke up it was not a bad breakup, it was a parting of ways. They both bring out the good in one another but can they support each other or are they destined to be pulled about by circumstances again? How many times do you take a chance? I really liked Grey, I fell for him hard and fast. The story was fun and I found myself invested in the story that Ms. Crespo wove.

  • Steamy and Fun

This is a steamy and fun read. Cori and her two friends are trying to get over their bad breakups. Grey, her college ex pops back in her life just at the right time. They rekindle their relationship and the sparks fly. It is an absolutely gorgeous story about two people who get an opportunity to find themselves. They get an opportunity to mend fences with their families. Nina Crespo does a wonderful job of bringing up important issues like drug overdose and seeking help while still writing a fun hot story.

  • Second Chances are Sweeter and Steamier

I thought this 2nd chance romance was pretty sweet. Truly a "meant to be" journey. Cori had just been settling for these past six years, in romance, in work, in her whole life it seemed. Grey, her love from six years ago, came back into town, and neither one had really gotten over the other. They still had their mojo, and it gets pretty steamy. There's much more to this, with outside factors not helping either. They had to make some important decisions, or it was headed the same direction it went six years ago. I enjoyed reading it, but I didn't feel the warm fuzzies for Cori, she seemed rather self absorbed or shallow, to me, while Grey put more effort into every facet of his life, or at least stood out more as still being in love with Cori, and wanting another chance, but conflicted about his future as well. A good read, I did have a hard time going back to the beginning point in time, with Nat and Alexa included in here enough or maybe too much, and having already read their HEA journeys, it just threw me off a bit.
