  • Rxcellent Read

Wow this book took me on a whirlwind adventure of emotions. Fast paced and full of mystery from the first chapter. Drew me in and didn't let me go until the final page. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth regarding the father and the decisions he ultimately makes. The last two pages hit like a freight train. Excellent read!

  • Unputdownable!

This is an unputdownable book that I literally inhaled! This quick, easy read will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Hannah Hall was raised by her grandfather and learned his skill as a woodturner. She met Owen Michaels when he came to her studio in New York with his boss Avett Thompson. They hit it off, eventually married and she moved to his houseboat in California. Owen was a widow with a 16-year-old daughter, Bailey. One day Owen's boss is arrested for crooked dealings in his software company and Owen disappears. What happened to Owen and was he involved???? You will have to read it to find out! Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the ARC of this fantastic read in exchange for an honest review.

  • Good mystery

I would like to thank NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Canada for the opportunity to read this book. I would describe this book as a suspense Or mystery novel. The book had my interest quickly and mostly kept it throughout the book. There were times the dialogue came across as boring but the parts which were more thoughts were interesting. This is a quick read and enjoyable but there isn’t any major suspense, nothing that keeps you in the edge of your seat. There wasn’t much description on the characters so I found I didn’t have much to decide if I like them. Hannah seemed likeable but Hannah seemed like a spoiled brat. Even as the story progressed I couldn’t feel much for Bailey. There was a twist to the story which was different than other books but that couldn’t save the book for me. It just didn’t come across as believable. I was expecting a much more exciting book from the reviews I read.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Believable

I’m on a really good roll with thrillers lately. I absolutely loved this one. I really liked Hannah as a character. She’s a strong, smart women’s with a big heart who put what’s best for her step daughter (with whom she has a rocky relationship) before everything. This one starts fast and doesn’t slow down. I couldn’t stop reading for a second. Who is Owen really? Why did he just up and leave? I loved how Hannah and Bailey took matters into their own hands and sought the truth. What I loved most about this was the plausibility of it. The ending wasn’t the outcome I was hoping for, but it’s okay, because any other ending wouldn’t have been believable.

    Thanks for your feedback!
