  • Do we really see the people around us?

I could not stop reading this book. High school can be daunting, all by itself. You never truly know what is going on in another's life. For Holly Ross, life presented challenges that resulted in a cross country, and cross climate relocation. For Nathan, Holly may present as another obstacle to be navigated, or will his truth be the one that binds them all. This is an exploration of all that motivates the young as they navigate the waters to reach adulthood along with a smattering of education. It shines a light on the invisible burdens that are not so easily recognized by the world at large. Not all handicaps are visible, and the ones we place on our own hearts may do the most damage. I loved the collection of quotes that opened each chapter. I think this book could start a hundred, important conversations. I plan to share it.

  • Great YA Read

This was a great 5 star read. Holly is a new student and she of course quickly learns who is in the cliques. When she meets Nathan, there is something about him that pulls her in, but he’s one of the popular guys. Nathan has a big secret that Holly eventually learns unexpectedly but she agrees to keep it to herself. A plan is put in place that ends up turning into a bigger thing than they expected. What would happen if Nathan’s secret were to get out? Overall I really enjoyed this book. It brings back memories from high school. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I really enjoyed these two. My emotions were all over the place. The author does a great job with her writing and you get pulled right in. I look forward to reading more from the author. 1-click and get started today.
