    Viciously snarky fairy tale romance

A wonderfully romping, over-the-top, snark-filled gay fairy tale romance of a Wizard's Apprentice lusting for the handsome and immaculate Knight Commander (with plenty of lovingly vicious cuts from his gay unicorn and half-giant mates). Another tour de force from TJ Klune, the King (or perhaps Queen) of snarkily hilllarious male/male romance. His wit is a bit over-the-top for some, but those who appreciate sharp-edged, sometimes vicious, and usually fierce dialog among fairy tale men may love this as much as I did.

    Laugh out loud enjoyment

If gay stereotypes offend you, maybe steer clear of this book. A true to genre book that happens also to be gay. It's like Piers Anthony grew up camp. The only time I stopped smiling because this book made me so happy was when the joy of reading it bubbled up in uncontrolled laughter.

    Banter

Summary of the book: Banter banter plot banter angst banter banter plot banter angst plot banter banter angst angst banter banter end. Not a big fan of banter. It was funny for a short time, but after 20 pages of banter it became annoying fast. World building, interesting, could have been more interesting if the banter was replaced with storyline. Character building, everyone's a stereotype. The only one I like is Gary, the sparkle puffing sassy unicorn.

    Pretty darn awesome

I quite enjoyed this book. The plot was cliched, but in a good way and the sense of humour strung throughout it made it a treat to read.

    Good old... same style.

Maybe it's because I just read Tell me Its real, but the style is the same ... however its a great and funny story. Interesting characters and part II to come.
