Good Novel Based On True Facts!

The Longest Night is the story of how everything can apart in just one night. It's 1959, Nat & Paul and their two young daughters have just moved to Idaho Falls for Paul's new job at a nuclear reactor site. Once Paul starts work and discovers that the reactor is failing and realizes his boss named Mitch, doesn't really care about it, Paul and his crew do everything they can to make it survive until a new one is in place. As Nat tries to find her place in this new town, a trip with the girls that ends up in a diner introduces her to a rugged local cowboy named Esrom who becomes a close friend in a world that unmarried men and married women don't mix. When Paul confronts Mitch about the failing reactor, they get into a fight and Paul gets sent to Iceland for six months. But before he leaves, Nat tells him that she is gonna have another baby just right before he is to get home. Paul leaves and Nat doesn't really have anyone but her new friend, Esrom which after awhile gets everyone talking including Mitch who ends up telling Paul what is going on back home after Mitch's surprise visit to Iceland. Shortly after Paul arrives back home and with everything coming out about what Nat did when he was gone, one night everything turns deadly when the reactor does what Paul feared and leaves everyone in shock. When everything is said and done, Paul and Nat move on from this town with a new outlook on life and realizing all they needed was each other. I really liked this book and for me the last 30 percent of the book will have you on the edge of your seat wandering what is gonna happen with everyone. This book is based on true facts on what happened on January 3, 1961 in Idaho Falls and to have Andria write this book and make you feel like you were there that night is pretty amazing to do. I think it would be kinda cool to have a follow up book to see if anything happens to Paul and all the others who were there that night. Thank You to Andria Williams for writing your debut novel on something that happened that most folks like myself didn't realized ever happened. I received this book from the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
