  • The Lord I Left

The Lord I Left is a sensual and sexy read that deals with faith and vice. Both of the main characters, Henry and Alice come from different spectrums in so many ways especially their professions, so much so that you wouldn't think a romance between them could work, that it could be believable but it is. They complement each other on pretty much every level. I loved that and I enjoyed their journey and I'm very much looking forward to reading the next book in the series as well as the previous books.

  • A brilliant twist on classic romance

A darling little novel that does precisely what it says on the package, throwing two disparate characters into a perfect scenario for romantic tension: the forced voyage. More than a brilliant nod to classic "bodice rippers" the writing speaks in the voice of the novel's Regency timeframe, showing Alice and Henry's inner turmoil on every page. Clever writing, smoking hot sex, and a lovely use of old bawdy songs and countryside ballads as another window into the characters' hearts. Let it be known I am a snob. I put down more novels than I finish reading. This book I consumed. I cried, I sighed, I quite often shouted aloud, in sympathy and delight. I am about to start reading Peckham's latest, The Rakess.
