  • the Maze Runner series will appeal to teen as well as adults. The story starts off in a mystery, and so far it continues to gather more questions than answers. I find this sort of book difficult to put down and very excited that it is going to be a series. If you enjoyed The divergent series and Hunger games, then you will enjoy this Author as well .I am looking forward to reading all of the Maze Runner series.

  • AMAZING BOOK. The author really told the story well, its such a unique idea and you instantly feel like you are there with the characters. I enjoyed reading this a lot, and although there was suspense, it was never annoying or enough to affect your understanding of the book. The scenarios are described so well but leaves room for imagination, and you UNDERSTAND their feeling's, and you understand the way this dystopian world works, and you understand each and every point that the author issues. When you finish the first book, and come to terms with reality, it feels like you've woken up from a 4958 hour sleep, and I believe that's how every book should captivate you. An amazing dystopian book that leaves you wanting more, if you're a fan of the Hunger Games (of which I personally adore), you will LOVE this.

  • Fantastic

My wife listened to the audiobook version over a year ago. When she described the story, I could not have been any less interested. We went as a family to see the movie and I loved it! I sought out the book to compare it to the movie. Even though I already knew the story, the book had me riveted from start to finish. It was written in a plain, simple style. The characters were, for the most part, well-developed. Despite being a YA novel, it was easy for me as an adult to read. I admit to being highly annoyed by the teenage angst that beats readers over the head. For this reason, I avoid a lot of YA novels. But The Maze Runner has none of this. The story unfolds at a steady clip that kept me locked in throughout. I felt the ending was a little anti-climatic (perhaps because I already knew what happened), but it was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to book 2.

  • I have read and re-read this book countless times. Although it may seem cliche, I truly was on the edge of my seat. This suspense filled novel kept me in great anticipation for the next installments in the series. The concept of waking up n an elevator with no idea who or where I am is daunting and yet intriguing. The authors ability to convey a groups solidarity in fear, and their revolution of heroism aspires awe. The raw emotion and realism of the novel, despite its fantasy based roots, allow readers to relate to individuals and fully immerse themselves in the Maze. The captivating plot, and build up of suspense being built up throughout the story, keeps you wanting to read more. The events and emotion, coupled with crippling realism and humor provides a versatile basis that appeals to all readers. All in all, it was a great book, a definite read before you see the movie kind.
