    Great retelling

This was a creative and fun retelling of a classic fairytale. The author has a way of writing that kept me captivated so that I could not put this story down (can I have the next one please also lol). The story was clear and entertaining with strong characters. I received an ARC for an honest review

a magical retelling of the Cinderella fairy tale

Rachel Morgan’s THE MEMORY THEIEF is a magical retelling of the Cinderella fairy tale. I absolutely loved this story. I could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. It is set in a world of four high races: Fae, vampires, shapeshifters, and humans. The humans are on the bottom of that food chain; many of them enslaved. Nineteen-year-old Elle Winter is our heroine. She is the human stepdaughter to Salvia, who is a Fae. After Elle’s father died, Salvia put a slave charm on Elle. Now she is trying to become free. To do that she needs to sneak around and there is a lot of risk involved. Meanwhile, there is a vampire extremist group known as the Allegiant that is thought to be behind the abduction of humans. Rachel Morgan does an admirable job with her character development. Elle is a likeable character. She has an interesting talent that plays an important part in the story. I like her relationship with her stepsister Sienna. I also thought it was intriguing how the Godmother is portrayed. THE MEMORY THEIEF is full of action and thrills. It is a clever story that is skillfully written. The novel had an exciting cliff hanger ending. I cannot wait for the next book. I highly recommend this story to people that enjoy urban fantasies and fairytale retellings. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

    Wonderful Beginning

I have always loved fairytale retellings, and I’m a huge fan of Rachel Morgan! I couldn’t wait to read her take on Cinderella. Let me just say she has done a fantastic job. Too often fairytale retellings fail to put a new spin on the story, but Rachel has done just that. In a world of fae, vampires and humans it feels like a brand new story. I devoured this first book in one sitting and only wish it had been longer. I am rooting for Elle and can’t wait to find out more about her gift, the vampires, the mysterious Dex and their world! If I could buy a wish I’d use it to wish for the rest of the story now! This was a great beginning of what looks to be another fantastic series from Rachel Morgan.

    A Twisted Good Read!

Leave it too Rachel to twist Cinderella's story into something more....incredible! I've always loved the Cinderella story as a child, but as an adult, Rachel's version is darker and gives me chill's, the good kind! In a world ruled by Fae, Vampires and Shifter's, this unique take on an old classic gets a shiny new look and a storyline that is riveting, strong and fun! With intriguing world building and either devilishly good looking Fae or just devilish characters, this is a wicked good read, I couldn't put down and can't wait for the next installment!!!!
