  • Two fins up

I picked this up from the free ebooks section. I wasn't expecting much but I was actually pretty impressed! A smooth read, no mistakes that I noticed. It's on the short side (around novella length) but it's a complete story where the romance didn't seem rushed even though it takes place over a short period. Interesting world-building, too. I felt sorry for the mermen. They had it rough! Definitely interested in buying the next book so I can see what happens to his poor brother.

  • Better than I expected!

This gets 3 stars because it entertained me, as well as the friends of mine who benefited from my play by play. I read it because it was free, it's absolutely not something I'd have picked up otherwise. One you get past the part where he's a fish, the story isn't bad. It has a plot. It has details about the world under the sea and how life works there. The story was a little rushed, yet it was still a good story. It introduced me to this author, and I have read the 3 currently available books from her Galactic Pirate Brides series. It starts of with a woman depressed who loses the purpose of life, and is predictably saved by the merman. Mermen mate for life, and they were mated for life by the third page.... Fast forward to the end, by-passing the inter-species action (and their plan to have little fishlings together), and all the spoilers in-between, they lived happily ever after. The end. Ps. My absolute favorite line from this book is: "It erupted from its sheath like a narwhal's horn through the ice" The book was worth it for that line alone.

  • Enjoyable quick read

This is the second time I'm reading about mermen. First was a m/m and was different to this book. This one was surprisingly enjoyable. May look into the rest of the series.

    Thanks for your feedback!
