  • Multi-Level Story

This is a rousing tale that keeps you thoroughly engrossed while on another level you are thinking about our Founding Fathers and how people govern themselves. And, finally, what does it really mean to be sentient.

  • Great

Heinlein does it again. Tells a story of intrigue, battle, fight for freedom, and family! It is a story that will hook you until the end. **spoiler** It still makes me sad that we lose Mike. I loved his character and wished he’d made it through the battle.

  • Much better than Srranger in a strang land.

I liked this tale, it was interesting and unlike "Stranger in a Strange land" was not an attack on religion.

  • Timeless classic

A political/social-themed SciFi book, rather than a scientific one, the Moon is a Harsh Mistress is a timeless classic. Even if the technology depicted in the novel will seem somewhat outdated to the 21st century reader, the themes explored by Heinlein are still astonishingly curent: dealing with AI, struggle for democracy, rehabilitation of former convicts, male/female relationships, family... Beautifully written and the style immerges you in the futuristic universe - up to the narrator and main character's slang. It may feel strange, even hard to get on board, but you'll get used to it after a few chapters. Great read!

  • Great

Impressive level of foresight regarding computers and orbital mechanics. Some science fiction from the bygone era seems dated, but this still rings true and, sadly, is a long way off from the authors original timeline
