    Awesome

Awesome read! This is the third in the series but it can absolutely be read stand alone. However, if you have read the first two books you have enjoyed the crazy bickering and banter between James and Gracie. You always new there were sparks beneath all that heat and the chemistry flares to life in this book! It's a fantastic opposites attract story, but sometimes you find out the person you think you know isn't quite what you thought! Their better, oh so much better. You definitely want to pick up this fantastically written story and give it a try. I highly recommend it.

    Thoroughly Enjoyable!

A wolf in professor’s clothing versus a blonde Betty Boop baker should not strike sparks off one another – but – they do. Since this is the first book in this series that I read I have to admit that I nearly put it down after reading the first scene in which James and Gracie argued over seemingly nonsensical issues. I couldn’t imagine why two adults could be caught up in such a juvenile argument over such a trivial issue. Why would such dialogue make them both so hot under the collar? I am glad I persevered with the book, though, because both James and Gracie were more than I thought they would be upon first meeting them. James may like control, seem methodical and science driven but there are reasons for the way he is just as there are reasons why Gracie fears she will never find someone to commit to forever. The telling of their romance includes some of their back stories, a bit about their professions and quite a bit of steamy sexual encounters. Neither one is entirely what the other believes them to be nor are they as thoroughly incompatible as they once had supposed. There are two other couples that appear in this book that have had their stories told earlier in the “something new” series and there are at least three more characters I would like to know more about, Sam (Gracie’s brother), Evan (James’s brother) and Harmony (new in town and working for Gracie). A thoroughly enjoyable read that I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Publishing Corp for sending me the ARC to read and review. Four Stars

    The Professor vs The Baker

Jennifer is brilliant at antagonistic relationships and what is really behind them. Yes, the friction can be electrifying. Amazing how we can see this in the novels we read but not in our everyday life. Love the familial jabs. This whole series would make a great series on TV. Just saying....

    Opposites attract!

James and Gracie are complete opposites, but they are also each other's perfect match. Sparks have been flying between these two since they met, but they are convinced that they are too different to be good together. Their family and friends keep them in constant contact with each other, so they attempt to try to be nice to each other. This leads them to discover what everyone else knows - they actually like each other. The chemistry between the couple is intense and once they give into the attraction they burn up the pages. There is never a dull moment between them - in or out of the bedroom. Can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend the previous books in the series. Can't wait for Evan's (James' brother) story next and I hope we get Sam's (Gracie's brother) soon! I received an ARC via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

    Pure fun to read!

THE NAME OF THE GAME gives true meaning to the saying that opposites attract. Gracie Roberts and James Donovan have been striking sparks off each other from the first day they met and couldn't be more different in personality. Gracie is in one word: a bombshell. With an attractive face and body, she's friendly and bubbly and has never met a man she couldn't charm until James. Since they have family and friends in common, avoiding each other is not possible so, she's taken to baiting him and tempting him with her baked treats all the time and it drives her crazy that she can't seem to get a reaction from him. Until she admits to herself that she's attracted to him and decides to do something about it. College professor James is calm, focused and very much in control and Gracie and her chaotic and messy ways threaten that control in every way. He's attracted to her but he knows that nothing can come out of it so, he's very surprised when she propositions him and they discover how very compatible they are between the sheets. But will Gracie's fear of commitment ruin everything before they even have a chance? Or will James's logical approach to problem-solving be the thing that does them in? The sizzling chemistry between Gracie and James in The Winner Takes It All had me all excited for this book and I'm glad to say that it lived up to its promise. The heat between them is enough to melt steel and it was so much fun watching them figure out what everyone else had: that they were perfect for each other. The constant bickering was enough to drive me crazy but it all added to the fun. James was a surprise, but in a good way. All of that control in a sexy and dominant package, but at the same time quite clueless about women, which was quite understandable when his backstory was revealed. As usual, the banter is fun and when the whole group gets together, it's so entertaining. They had me screaming with laughter and melting over the sweet moments. As much as I enjoyed Gracie and James, I enjoyed the glimpses into the previous couples' relationships. There were a few surprises but I love that the drama in the story was all about Gracie and James figuring out their relationship and not about any external interference. THE NAME OF THE GAME was fun, flirty and pure pleasure to read and I'm counting down the days until Evan's story because I can't get enough of Ms. Dawson's writing.
