    A compelling mystery

Gilly Macmillan’s “The Nanny” is a creepy tale of illegal activities and murder. Lord Alexander Holt and his wife Lady Virginia lived with their young daughter Jocelyn at Lake Manor. Distant from her mother, young Jocelyn felt closer to her nanny, Hannah, than her mothr. Then one night Hannah disappeared. Years later the now widowed Jocelyn moved into Lake Manor with her 10 year old daughter Ruby. When Hannah reappears and re-enters Jocelyn’s life, offering to help care for Ruby, many questions arise which further strain the relationship between Jocely, now known as Jo, and her mother Virginia. But is this Hannah’s real motivation? This story keeps the reader’s interest from beginning to end - a very good read.
