    The nick of time

Strange book, eccentric maybe. The tale is simple, a man is a volunteer for the first test of a time machine and goes back to a 1939 New York fair. He should stay one day, but for some reason gets stick in a loop for a very long time always re living the same day. This is just the incipit. What happens afterwards is a mostly delightful romp in parallel universes! in a war a between past and future! less delightful explanation (not very seriously though) of the nature of time and the recurring theme of the Wizard of Oz which comes up everywhere. Not your normal scifi book, but very enjoyable and worth to be read
