    Thanks for your feedback!

Beautiful style - didn't like story.

I have to say that this was a well-written thoughtful story.. The images were wonderfully expressed- they stayed with me for weeks. Unfortunately, this book was still a disappointment for me. I don't like to choose a numeral for my ratings because the fact that *I* didn't like it doesn't much. I will try to describe, however, what I felt. As a poetic flowing description of the elderly lady's feelings and experience, it all but made me want to be there on the island. Nonetheless, while a story does not have to be "nice" to be considered excellent, I found the story at times depressing and at times dreary and lackluster. I felt, reading, as though the story couldn't decide whether it was a lovely but melancholy description of an elderly widowed woman's life or a strange tale of deception. Although I personally wouldn't call this a mystery.. it is a strange story indeed. Unfortunately, all things considered, there's far too much that's despondency- inducing for me.
