    Another fantastic book from Choo

I loved the ghost bride and love this book no less. It really is a whodunnit and thriller and I couldn't put it down (which honestly doesn't happen that often nowadays). I strongly recommend this book.

    Beautifully written

Ji Lin is an apprentice dressmaker, who also, works as a dancehall girl. Someone has to pay off her mother's debts. When one of her dance partners leaves behind a gruesome souvenir, she might get an adventure that she won't comeback from. This is one of the most descriptive beautiful books that I have ever read. To find out about the Night Tiger and it's history, you should definitely read this book. I loved it and will recommend it to all my friends. I received this amazing book from Net Galley and Flat iron Books for a honest review.

    I expected too much

This one is definitely not for me. It started very well and I was engaged with the writing and all that Chinese/Malay folklore, but only during the first 33%. Unfortunately I did not care about the characters (I did like Ren, although I couldn’t believe that, as an 11 y.o. he could have some medical knowledge) and I think that the genre mix (mystery/romance/fantasy) was a big failure. I was bored most of the time. I did not have to finish it, but I did push myself to the end (a messy one, by the way), just to make sure that I wasn’t missing anything important. But the writing is good and easy to follow. I just missed some passion and depth. As some other reviewer said, this feels more like a cutesy Y.A. book.
