    A sci-fi adventure with romance

While this set of novels is a satisfying read it was hurt by its digital editing. When the point of view changes from one character to another there is no more indication than a new paragraph. There should at least be some sort of visual representation such as 3 asterisks. This clumsy layout really hurt my reading of this book. A jarring knock back to reality when you are trying to get lost in the narrative.

    The Novels of Jaran

Excellent and intelligent reading experience. I am still reading, almost through and I can say I've had difficulty putting it down . The characters, human and alien, are well fleshed out. The exploration into cultural and alien perspectives is so well thought out and written that you become totally immersed. This is a story of coexistence, struggle and adaption ; the need to preserve, understand and to rebel. Highly recommend this series. I appreciate being able to purchase the entire series in one pkg on my e-reader. The e-reading format could be improved by the addition of three little dots when changing the character perspectives. It is confusing to be suddenly switched to another character without some transitioning indicator.
