    Great read

I love this series. Well written but a bit different from the norm. Very enjoyable. Not quite Harry Potter but a well written attempt.

    Fantastic second book

Fantastic 2nd book in the series with lots of twists and turns in it. Cant wait till the 3rd book as I want to know what is going to happen next.

    Overall a very good read

It was slower paced than the first book. I also had a problem with some of the feelings Oliver had and the things he was able to achieve until I advanced him in age to 15, in my head. It's a Morgan Rice book which means it's full of great characters and a good read.

A second in series that bests the first, fantastic

A romping, rollicking good read! The struggle, the battles, the friends ... and the enemies, along with that rotten sneak of an arch-nemesis! Morgan Rice drives a gripping adventure through a tornado of events, hard to resist, and harder to put down. Great characterisation that brings Olde London Town to vibrant life and grim reality. And, to boot, The Obsidians just released, yay!

Love the book! Couldn't stop reading it.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I found myself letting responsibilities go in order to continue reading long after I had planned to stop. Luckily, it was the holidays, so I had a little time to spare. :) Oliver is such an easy character to like and root for. His relationships with the people around him, from Esther on one end to Chris on the other, brought a lot to the story, I think. I hope this doesn't give the wrong impression, but to take a story as simple as this one and give it the sense of suspense and anticipation that makes you want to keep reading is a testament to Rice's writing ability, in my opinion. I LOVE the short chapters. It's like eating potato chips; you find it so easy to just have just ONE more. The villains were mean and nasty, which makes you root for Oliver and company that much more strongly. I can't wait for the next installment!
