    Romantic love in Vermont.

A.M. Kusi, The Orchard Inn. As an Hidden Gem ARC reader I received this book for free. And promised an honest review. Here it is. English isn’t my first language. Sorry for errors. Rating: 4 stars (of 5). In general: Romantic love in the Vermont countrysite . Main characters: - Ella Shaw (25). Had a very difficult youth with an uninterested mom and abusive stepfathers. Fled in the arms of a boyfriend who mistreated her physically and mentally. So she fled again, now to Mac Shaw, an ex of her mother; the only one who treated her well. When she arrived he was the owner of the Orchard Inn in Vermont. He gives her a home, helps her to get a business education and is like a father for her. In return Ella works at the inn, helping Mac to renovate the interior and updating the management of the place. A few years ago Mac got an uncurable cancer. Ella took care of him till he died. Then she appeared to be the heiress of the Inn. - River Parker (28). Guest at the Orchard Inn. Works at Parker Consulting Inc., his father’s firm in Boston, specialised in advising resorts. During the check-in Ella admires his very good looks. Working with her laptop in the bar to improve the website design for the inn, Parker meets her again. He offers to help her but she’s very reluctant. Ella wants to keep her distance from guests and she’s afraid to trust again a man after the very negative experiences during her youth. And River, admiring her intelligence, sweetness and good looks, hesitates to ask her for a date. He recently had a bad break-up with a girlfriend who only wanted his money and he thinks that, while living in another state and traveling almost constantly for his work, he cannot become involved with a girlfriend who loves her work in the Vermont countrysite. A.M. Kusi describes with feeling how the relationship between Ella and River develops in spite of all these doubts. She creates a lot of interesting, wonderful other characters, describes the beautiful nature in Vermont and the interesting events in a countrysite inn with ambitions. In short: reading the book was a pleasure for me.
