Love wild as the Montana Mountains

Devney Perry has stopped surprising me with her great writing as she has become one of my favorite authors. Her books are always amazing with fantastic characters and love stories that make you happy and satisfied. “The Outpost” is a book that has the perfect combination of slow burn romance and suspense leaving you with a smile. Sabrina has played all her cards and lost in her journey of taking down a criminal family. She might have succeeded in finding all the evidence that will send these crinimals in jail through her journalism but now she is beaten and chased by them. Afraid for her life, she must now hide in the wilderness of the Montana mountains with a man she never knew before. Beau has a lot on his plate but he cannot say no to the cry of help of this strong woman. He is the only man that knows these mountains like the back of his hand so he has to be the one to guide her in her stay in one of the outposts. They are both intrigued by each other from the start but they have to resist their attraction. Sabrina is a city girl and Beau cannot leave his home, his family and this place. Their chemistry is sizzling throughout the book and when they decide to give their relationship a chance, they are inseparable. I have to congratulate this author for her ability of writing decent characters. Beau is a gentle giant. He has a formidable image but the kindest heart. He is hardworking, responsible and sweet. He is trustworthy, calm and caring. He is a man to fall in love while knowing he will not break your heart. I LOVED him! Sabrina is a woman strong and feisty. I like that she questions her ethics and she has these vulnerabilities. She might be out of her element in the nature but I admire her ability to adjust and not give up. She is a straight forward heroine who has instincts and logic. My only complaint is that towards the end she puts all these walls around herself and keeps Beau away without saying what she truly wants. She later realizes her mistake so no harm done. This is a love story born into the majestic mountains of Montana that it is just as majestic as its beautiful scenery. A book that will keep you enchanted until the end and will make you fall in love with this wonderful place and this couple’s chance for a happily ever after!

    Fabulous

What a fabulous book and series. I knew from the start what a great author I’d found from the first book. This one is everything I hoped for and so much more. It’s an emotional and intriguing plot. The characters keep you guessing from the start. Had me in tears in many places too. Highly recommend this book and series

    An amazing small town romance!

The Outpost is an incredible small town romance. It is book four in the Jamison Valley Series and a standalone. The series is comprised of standalones that should not be missed! Five stars are simply not enough. This book is everything that an amazing read should be! It is epic, heartwarming and panty melting! Sabrina aka Shortcake and Beau aka Goliath, are an unlikely match that just ends up making so much sense. This is truly one of my all time favorite series. The writing is stellar and perfectly paced. The characters are perfectly flawed, lovable and so, so real. Together they experience friendship and then a sweet, soulful, slow burn romance. Beau is a man who knows what he wants out of life. Some of what he wants he doesn't think is within his reach, but he hopes he can change the course of that decision. Sabrina is fearless and isn't afraid to reach for what she wants. She experiences a lot of growth and self realization at the outpost. She also comes to realize that everything she thought she hated is what she wants, needs and what completes her. It makes her feel whole and happy just like The Outpost makes you feel when you read it. This book made me get goose bumps and gave me that warm, fuzzy, happy feeling. I smiled ear to ear. Beau is quite the alpha man! We all need Beau in our life! One click The Outpost today and submerge yourself in an incredible reading experience. All of the books in the series are a perfect blend of alpha swoon, strong heroine, angst and small town goodness!

    A beautiful love story

It’s really hard to put into words, how much I loved this book. After reading The Lucky Heart, I didn’t think Devney would be able to top my love for Silas, but in just a couple of chapters, Beau has blown my heart wide open, with all the feels and wormed his way in there along with Jess, Nick and Silas. The Outpost begins where we first met Sabrina in The Lucky Heart, she had just been dropped off on her best friend Felicity’s doorstep after almost being killed by her mafia boyfriend, who she was investigating for gun smuggling. With the threat of him and his family coming after her, Felicity calls in back up to keep her friend safe, in the form of her brother Jess (the sheriff) and Beau who can ‘stash her’ away somewhere she won’t be found. Beau takes her to an Outpost, a small cabin in the woods used by rescue teams and researchers while working on forest fires or search and rescue missions, but most of the time is abandoned. For the first 3 weeks Beau stays by her side to show her how things work and make sure she feels safe when he leaves. The chemistry between them is immediate, but they both know, if anything were to happen, it would only be temporary, and neither were willing to risk their hearts on that. The first time Beau leaves, Sabrina does not cope well, struggling with the loneliness and the state of her life, not getting out of bed and living only on granola bars, she just wants to mope after the ordeal she has been through and her body still healing, but Beau comes back and throws her in the shower, telling her she needs to keep it together. The next few times she is left alone, with only Beaus cute dog, Boone, as company, she really comes into her own, making the most of her bad situation. One of the things I loved most about the story, was the timeline, things didn’t happen quickly, the whole book was drawn out over a year, so when things progressed, it felt right. As with all relationships, there are many misunderstandings along the way, and these two let what they believe about where they belong, ultimately, keep them apart, until something happens that makes them both realise they are meant to be together. One of my favourite things in a romance story, is a good epilogue, and boy did this one have one. I love that little glimpse into the future to show how our couple are getting on, and this one blew me away and left me smiling like a lunatic for a long while afterwards. This story gave me all the feels, I laughed, cried and swooned along with Sabrina for the whole journey, and I know I’m going to be reading this again and again and still get the same feelings every time. Another massive hit for Devney Perry, I’m stunned that she has only written 4 books so far, every one is polished to perfection and they just get better and better every time. Now I can’t wait for Maisey’s story, The Bitter Root Inn. After reading this book, I’m also hoping Henry, the hot FBI agent, is going to get his own HEA!

    Awesome Book!

This series just keeps getting better and better! I am so thankful that I was told about this up and coming author! I will admit that this was my least anticipated of Devney's books so far. I expected it to be another typical story about a couple who were forced together in the wilderness. But I am very happy to say I was wrong. Very, very wrong. Beau and Sabrina were a fantastic match. After Sabrina writes an expose on a wealthy family in Seattle, she needs somewhere safe to hide while the FBI arrests and prosecutes them for weapons trafficking. In doing so she finds the beauty in the wilderness and a life away from a thriving city that she never imagined. She discovers what she really wants to be doing with her life after feeling the full devastation that her previous choices have caused on her own life. While she has to stay secluded, Beau has his own life to lead while fighting his feelings for this brave woman who made choices to help others and uncover secrets even the authorities had struggled with. He helps her fight back the depression and nightmares, as well as come to terms with a tragedy in her past that caused her to make some choices that hurt her in the long run, but were choices that helped form the women he falls in love with. This book definitely had its emotional moments, but was so worthwhile that the tears were well worth it. I highly recommend it as I do any of Devney's other work to date.
