    Definitely 5 Big Stars

I had the pleasure of being reintroduced to the feisty Clara from The Major's Faux Fiancé and the rogue, Capt. Blackheart from The Earl's Defiant Wallflower where they separately played supporting characters in each of those two earlier books. I think, so far, this has been the best story in this series. I simply loved the games between them and their total trust of and their continuous support for each other. Both are very strong characters, yet quite different from each other. Neither of them are that young that their decisions and actions might be considered irresponsible. They know what they are doing and they know exactly how to get what they want and enjoy adventures together. This story is written so well that I would have been quite happy for it to carry on indefinitely. In fact, I think it would probably make a great TV series or full length movie. Kudu's to Erica Ridley, the author, for a job well done!

    Perfect again!

Erica Ridley is on one of the longest winning streaks I have ever seen: 6 books in a row, in the same fabulous series, and THE PIRATE’S TEMPTING STOWAWAY is just as wonderful as the previous five ones! When he came back from the war, Gregory Steele became a pirate and renamed himself Captain Blackheart. He loves adventures, he loves the sea, and is not looking to put down roots. He must fetch Mrs. Clara Halton in Philadelphia, on the orders of the Earl of Carlisle, and will be paid upon his return to England. He did not expect a spirited widow, supposedly on death’s door, to point a firearm at him when he arrives at her door! Clara is however delighted to be reunited with her daughter in England, and she goes willingly. Clara who always thought she wanted a quiet and uneventful life, soon discovers she loves adventures, and the bachelor pirate finds out he very much enjoy the companionship of the lovely widow. THE PIRATE’S TEMPTING STOWAWAY is a perfectly delightful romance; the chemistry between the pirate and Clara is a joy to behold; their banter is witty, and yet completely realistic. Ms. Ridley’s storytelling abilities shine again with very creative plot twists, and the characters are colourful and very appealing. I laughed out loud at the shipmates’ utterances; the dialogues are, as usual, spectacular. But the pièce de résistance is Ms. Ridley’s superlative writing: her words flow with such easy elegance, never pretentious yet always according to Regency usage. THE PIRATE’S TEMPTING STOWAWAY is a quick read: the pace never slows down from the first paragraphs, and neither does the enjoyment. A wonderful read that will leave you feeling happy! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

    Romance on the High Seas

Take a well-educated pirate, send him to pick up the mother of your new wife and then transport her back to England from America on his pirate ship and you end up with this fun romance, Captain Blackheart and Clara Halton are both around forty, from completely different backgrounds, have faced adversity, want adventure and are definitely attracted to one another. How can a woman who wants what she wants and a man who does not want to give up his way of life ever come to terms? Can they find a workable compromise? This romance is definitely more fun than fact BUT we all need a bit of escape from time to time, right? Great fun, great dialogue, interesting characters and fun around every corner – if you are in the mood for a quick escape this might be the one for you. (3.5 Stars)

    Smiley Tears Abound!

To stand out in an already exemplary series is not an easy task but Erica Ridley manages to do so with her latest work The Pirate's Tempting Stowaway. The sixth installment in her Dukes Of War series readers will be pleased by the maturity and simmering attraction between the hero and heroine. Moments of smiley tears abound in this tale of people defying the harsh hands dealt them by fate and finding love. A true artist Ms. Ridley takes her audience on a wonderful and caring journey with just the right amount of spiritedness thrown in to spice things up! *I received this ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.* *While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*

    An adventure

The reader gets to experience the journey of Clara and Captain Blackheart romance and adventures. I read this book as standalone and enjoyed getting into the story and interest peaked by the other characters. Received an author's copy from net galley for honest review
