  • Super hot FWB turns into a real love match!

It took me quite a while to warm up to Nicole, until I realized she uses sex to mask her insecurities. David comes across as somewhat quiet and staid, but what a surprise he turns out to be! He and Nicole are incredibly compatible between the sheets, but it's a very slow burn romance on the emotional end of things. As I've come to expect from this author, the extended families (especially grandparents) bring a lot of charm and there's plenty of food in just about every scene. This was a delightful read, a wonderful return visit with the Cider Bar Sisters, and oh my, the steamy scenes should come with a fire extinguisher and a warning! Another wonderful book from one of my favorite authors. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

  • Food, Funm Family, Friends and Oh My...Steam

I received an ARC of this book to read through a review crew. All opinions are my own. The Professor Next Door by Jackie Lau is the third book in her delightful Cider Bar Sisters series. You don’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one, but I highly recommend the entire series, so if you haven’t yet, put them on your TBR. Nicole Louie Edwards is beginning to ask herself the question, “Is this what I want for my life? “ when the man she was having a casual fling with announces that he’s met, someone. Her friends have begun to pair off, and it seems like so much work to find new lovers who, like her, are not looking for a relationship. When she first sees her new next-door neighbour David Cho, she thinks he looks like someone’s husband, so definitely not someone she’d be attracted to, but a chance encounter being stuck in an elevator leads to a tentative friendship and then a very steamy friends with benefits liaison. Jackie Lau’s books are so much fun to read with the antics of family, and friends, fantastic food porn and especially, in this case a steam level that will leave you fanning yourself as you read. I enjoyed this book immensely and highly recommend reading it.
