  • Times are changing

What an absolutely fantastic story! I was so worried that Lyndi would be left out in the cold when the dust settled, but the author outdid herself with this tale of love and perseverance. I love how there were so many pivotal changes for the Huracan dragons. Each one caused me to hold my breath until the crisis was over while I anxiously continued reading to see what the next turn of the page would bring. This book made me fall in love with this group even more and I can’t wait to see what new dangerous and exciting things the author brings their way next. They might have to hold a continent together, but if they stay strong as a group I just know they will all find the HEA that Levi and Lyndi have found. This book, and it’s wonderful surprises, are a perfect example of why this author is one of my one-click favorites, and I look forward to reading the next story she brings to life.

  • I love dragons!

This was another win for me by Abigail Owen. This is the fourth book in the fires edge series, but the first one I have read. However I have read both book in the inferno rising series and they take place in the same world so I didn't feel like I was missing anything. However since I loved this book, I will be going and reading the first three so I can soak up as much sexy dragons as possible. Levi and Lyndi both knew from almost the first moment they met that there was something between them. They both chose to pretend they felt nothing. Lyndi because shes a female dragon and thus sterile so she could never properly mate Levi and give him children. Levi because he thought that he was alone in his feelings so he kept them to himself. Well with a few words and a proclamation from the King to bring Levi home things change. Once they realize they both want each other sparks fly.. and clothes fall off... I loved watching Lyndi take care of her houseful of orphaned dragons and how much they love her, and the lengths she will go to protect them. Levi knows he has to go slow to convince Lyndi that they belong together and I really liked watching her come to the realization that she loves him and that they should be together despite the odds against them.. . I can't wait to read the books that came before this one, and any books that she writes in the future.

  • Exciting, captivating, amazing dragon shifters

Exciting and amazing. This is my first book in the Fire’s Edge series and I was completely captivated as I was pulled into this world of dragon shifters. From the moment Levi saw Lyndi in the sky, he felt and knew she was his mate but she is red dragon royalty so feels he wouldn’t be worthy. Lyndi has kept Levi at a distance for 200 years believing he didn’t like her. As tensions mount with another group of enforcers, this puts the orphans Lyndi rescues and raises at risk. This also has Levi spending more time with her as a protector. Now, these two are full of sparks, passion and stubbornness but when they finally give in and acknowledge how they feel, well, they are combustible. As a new threat comes for Lyndi and the orphans, they are put to the test to protect everyone. There is so much to love about this world. Even jumping in at book 4, I felt like the story gave me everything I needed to know to follow all the intrigue and drama between the different dragon clans.

  • My favorite in the series!

4.5 stars I have to say this latest book in the Fire’s Edge series happens to be my favorite so far. As a female dragon shifter Lyndi Chandali has been taught that she is really not all that useful except as a political pawn. Rather than wallowing in her fate, she decides to make a worthwhile life for herself by fighting alongside her enforcer brother and taking in orphaned dragons and providing them a home. Because she knew she could never be a true mate, Lyndi never allowed her attraction to the beta enforcer Levi Rowtag ever come to light. They have known each other for centuries and have always circled around one another. Levi always felt the connection between them but due to multiple misunderstandings throughout the years the only feeling he felt from Lyndi was contempt. Even though he believed she hated him, he always felt the need to protect her. But circumstances have now changed, Levi had to make a decision between duty to his king and a chance to finally claim his mate. Like in the previous three books a lot happens in this book, almost too much, there were so many moments that had me at the edge of my seat. What I really loved about this book was the devotion Levi felt towards Lyndi and her orphans. When the two finally revealed how they felt towards each other, you could feel the connection between the two. I adored all of the orphaned dragons, they did provide some comic relief at times. And it was wonderful catching up with some of the characters in the previous books. All in all a wonderful read! And with the way this book ended, I am now anxiously awaiting for Rune’s story!

  • Miracles Never Cease In This Series!

My favorite in the Fire's Edge series so far, The Protector is addicting! Non-stop action, steamy romance, and a deep love of orphans that need a guiding hand, this book has it all. I honestly couldn't put it down and read it in a day! I've pre-ordered it to add to the rest of the series to go back and read again. This series is Just. That. Good! Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing me an arc of this book. This review is my honest opinion of the works of this author.
