  • My Thoughts

I have been reading Inspector Lynley mysteries since the first book was published. Ms George’s newest addition carries Lynley and Havers into 2018 with a very sticky situation. The women portrayed in this story exhibit the strength of women everywhere to come together and overcome their problems. Demonstrates the importance of family and parenting in modern society.

  • Intriguing

The narrative holds one’s interest, characters are well drawn and descriptions including history of the settings add to the pleasure of being immersed in the story.

  • the same but different

A great mystery with so many twists. What I always appreciate about EG's approach is there is never a recipe. Each mystery takes a new approach with new angles. And what an adventure it will be as Barbara continues to learn who she can be.

  • Really

I admit to giving up on this book. What has happened to George? Characters stereotyped and without much in the way of redeeming qualities which might otherwise make the reader care what happens; plot to ensnare Havers contrived and not believable; generally uninteresting.
