    Wild but fun

Transhuman fiction set in a wild and crazy solar system. Enjoyable if not always consistent in world building.

    Stylish science fiction

An amazing book. The story is fast paced and well written with so much imagination, and filled with characters who are colourful and full of life and personality (including the ship). The final scenes reminded me of something out of a well written Dr. Who episode with lots of twists and turns and all kinds of interesting tech involved. A wonderfully stylish SF novel.

    Mixed but good I suppose

I love Greg Egan and Anathem, for context. This author, Hannu, seems to be intentionally obtuse about introducing concepts and this book was not readable without a third party glossary. Perhaps that's the intention, but it took me about a third into the book of confusion until I had to seek one out. I wish I had from the beginning. Otherwise...it's quite a thrill, though the q-magic mechanics are often hand waved away to do whatever is dramatically suitable.

    The Quantum Thief

    Wonderful. Mind bending and unnerving.
