    The Queen's Flight

Viola Pierce’s day suddenly becomes a bit surreal as she shifts into a Dragon Queen and because the dragon court is ruthless, she has to fight for her life…but what doesn’t kill Viola will make her more dangerous in this spectacular paranormal romance. Sergei hates Queens but something about Viola has him bonded to her for life and the reader can’t help but get caught up in all the excitement as Viola and Sergei fight for their lives while struggling with a growing attraction neither could have imagined. The chemistry sizzles from every page while the attraction continues to grow but trust issues from both of their pasts keeps the relationship from being all it could be and that’s not taking into consideration all the outside influences that hamper this romance. Strong, commanding characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, action and romance. Anticipation builds as Viola finds herself in an unsettling predicament and her boss trying to take full advantage of it while lots of spine tingling excitement keeps readers on the edge of their seats as her new status becomes known to allies and enemies alike and things go from unsettling to downright chaotic with enemies coming from every direction. The well written scenes and details paint vivid images that make it easy for the reader to become enmeshed in the story while the intriguing events draw them in and guarantee that there is never a dull moment. This is an exhilarating read that I couldn’t put down, I especially liked Viola’s differences and the way the story came together for her and Sergei. The world is fascinating, complex, has some interesting and unusual elements that makes for a refreshing change and sexy dragons and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this enticing world.

    See something special coming together

The first book in this new series, The Queen's Wings, I apparently took major exception to the blurb not matching the book. (Those things due tend to aggravate me.) This time, it wasn't an issue, in large part because I didn't bother to read it. I saw the cover, the author and series and grabbed on with both hands. The story starts with Viola as just another human working for the dragons. She has always had what she calls the angel and devil on her shoulders, giving her an internal monologue of snarky guidance in her everyday decisions. Imagine her surprise when the power of the Queen's are released (see ending of The Queen's Wings) and suddenly she is a dragon with 3 heads. Yep, that's right, those little voices aren't so internal any longer and she's stuck in dragon form. Too bad the dragon she was working for decides that a Queen appearing in his office means he should get to keep her - even if she emphatically does not want to be kept. Many of the characters from book one are back. There is more world building done and I can really see something special coming together. I couldn't help but chuckle over what Viola's hoard was and the length's she would go to protect it. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one. I gave this book 4 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and Entangled for the opportunity to read and review this book.
