Five Star Story with Engaging Characters

As ever with Jenn Roseton, I found this a fast-moving, smoothly told and engrossing story with the normal vivid word pictures and enjoyable touches of humour. Ellie and Logan are an engaging couple and you want them to get together from the start. Ellie Sterling's life is so-so. She's got a job which she quite enjoys, as an illustrator. She'd rather be painting, but that's not an easy way to make money. She loves her father, a single parent - he says her mother died in childbirth - but there are many aspects of his life that are a mystery to her, as he works in the security services, assuring her he does something, 'incredibly boring'. Since the death of her devoted grandmother three years ago, Ellie's wished more than ever that she had a mother. Perhaps that would matter less to her if her love life wasn't a total failure. Ellie may be attractive, with strawberry blonde hair and ample curves, but she hasn't found many men who appreciate her sort of looks; she hasn't had a proper boyfriend in years. Suddenly, one day her life is turned upside down; her father has a heart attack and assuring her that she's in danger, her uncle drives her to a remote ranch in Wyoming, where the taciturn, unbending Logan Trask, a former SEAL and former work contact of her father's, is to be her bodyguard. Logan, who's never liked curvy women and is out of touch with his tender feelings, isn't exactly excited at the prospect; but unluckily, Ellie finds herself becoming more and more excited by Logan's dark, lean, muscular looks. Clearly she's not his type; but she finds herself longing more and more to be part of his life, and even to stay on at the run down farmhouse and be part of his life; and Ellie doesn't even know about the greatest obstacle between them, the conditions of the Trask brothers' grandfather's will, which only leaves them his money on the condition that they all remain single. Then Ellie learns something astonishing about her own family background...
