    Fantastic

A fabulous book that kicks off what I expect will be a fantastic series. Kai Rockwell returns home when the family business is put in jeopardy. The Rock Peak Lodge has been in the Rockwell family for generations but now it faces financial ruin. Kai will do whatever it takes to save it including putting up with his father Max Rockwell. Max is ailing and in need of care. That's when Nicole Davidson arrives. She provides excellent care for his father but Kai feels there is something more to her than she's letting on. Nicole and Kai can't deny the attraction between them but the secrets may end up keeping them apart. This is a well done book that is fun, entertaining, and perfect for a relaxing afternoon read. I highly recommend it.

Amazing Start to a New Series

Amazing start to a new series, a page turner that I could not put down. Every family has a rebel, Kai left many years ago to never return but one telephone call changes everything. Kai has returned home to find the family lodge in disrepair and his father's health failing him. His father's nurse Nicole, has secrets and has a job to do. Not planning on the sexual chemistry between her and Kai, will soon change the plans. Enemies to lovers, loved the banter between Kai and Nicole. Great sexual chemistry. The one thing they have in common is the love of their family and what they would both do for them. Great laugh out moments. Can't wait to read more of the Rockwell family. I highly recommend this book.

    Amazing read

What a wonderful new series, The Rockwell Legacy, from Jennifer Bernard. Starting off in “The Rebel” Kai and his dad get into a big fight that ends with him not knowing if his dad kicked out first or with him saying he’s leaving. When packing his siblings Gracie, Isabelle, Jeff and Griffin ask him where is he going. Kai tries to make things better about him leaving. When Kai says to remember their family motto about laughing over crying, Kai leaves. Fifteen years later Kai is a mountain guide and paramedic in Alaska. When a situation with Max, Kai’s father, occurred. Max downplayed his health that it was a shocker to Kai that he had a nurse. A young nurse who Max is listening to ideas from for the lodge like a spa. The decision was made for Kai to come home. Right off the bat I’m drawn in. Truthfully I was super excited for this new series. I can’t get enough of Jennifer Bernard’s books. “The Rebel” is a funny romantic book that I highly enjoyed reading. I highly recommend this book. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.

Nice kickoff to a new series!

The prodigal son returns … and sparks fly! With the first book in a new series, Jennifer Bernard brings us the story of a family who has had a ski lodge in their family for several generations, and as their father gets older, the need for one of the kids to step up and take over some of the day to day duties is approaching. The family is ripe with hidden secrets and confrontational avoidance, so watching the dynamics unravel is really moving. The characters comprising the family were quick to draw me in, and I’m looking forward to their future stories. Rescue paramedic Kai Rockwell fled the combustible life under his father’s roof many years ago and swore he’d never go back. He’s kept that promise to himself, but receiving news from home makes him second guess decisions he made as an impassioned hot head and go home to check on his dad. He finds a sexy young nurse in residence and can’t figure out if she’s on the up and up or if she’s trying to fleece his father. Nicole Davidson will do just about anything to be able to keep caring for her handicapped sister, so when she’s faced with the opportunity to take a home health nurse position in the beautiful Cascade Mountains at Rocky Peak Lodge, she is willing to do the little bit of spying it entails to earn a bonus. Once she gets to know and like the Rockwell’s, she starts to second guess her secret mission. Especially once eldest son Kai returns … and instant attraction occurs!
