    the rebels, book 2

i took my time reading this book because i didn't want to have to wait too long between books, but it is done now and i didn't like it...i love it! i can\t wait for the next one. the first book introduced a plot and characters who had to deal with moral and ethical issues that arise when governments attempt to control its citizens and claim that it is best for them, but the people don't agree and rebel. this book, The Rebels, involves a new group of people and how adrian, kali and bryce encounter them. they find yet another group of people who want to use them to further their cause, but all they want is to be left alone. we meet a bounty hunter, drel argus, who bashes adrian over the head, ties him up and leaves adrian with a bad opinion about the barbarian. but we learn that there are layers to argus who has a past he is running from. we meet tucker, rebel leader, and dain, his second in command. we also meet samantha, a doctor that adrian somehow manages to accidentally kidnap. kali and bryce are separated from adrian and they attempt to reunite and rescue each other. like a bad omen, sester reappears and meets the rebels. once again i don't know if i want to strangle sester or dig into his secrets. each time a piece of sester's past is revealed, it reveals a link to kali, adrian and argus that surprises them. this book is faster paced with more action and the characters are developed further to reveal complexities and personal demons. i look forward to reading the next books in the series and i expect to be kept on the edge of my seat binge reading because i can't put the book down.
