A Missing Student and Academic Politics in Nevada

This is the first book I have read in this series. It does mention the previous book and murder but I was not lost and it does not give anything away. Red is the interim dean of Journalism at a Nevada College. While interviewing for the permanent position, she is helping to search for a missing student, help draft a sexual assault policy for the school and navigate academic politics. There is a lot going on this book and the author knows the academic world well. I agree that there should have been a little more suspense and tension in the book. There was not a lot of mystery in the book. I was not very surprised by the ending. I did like the main characters esp Red and Joe. I look forword to reading the next book in the series because of the characters and the academic background. I will probably go back and read the first one in the series too. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
