  • The Road Leads Back

This was my first book by this author but definitely not the last! Kara and Harry had a one-night stand and when Harry left for college Kara was left with more than just memories. When she went to Harry's mom she was turned away and ended up across the country and now almost 3o years later Harry has discovered he is a father of a grown son. Kara is an accomplished artist and has raised their son, Phil, who is also a father of a 7-year-old daughter, and when Harry shows up and wants to get to know his son and get re-acquainted with "the one who got away" he convinces Phil to move and wants Kara to "come home." This is a beautifully written story full of healing and heart. Don't miss this one! **Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**

  • So Many Feels!

This has so many feels I don't know which one took over the most. This is a story about forgiveness, for others and for yourself. It's a story about bravery and survival and moving forward; but not before letting the past go. I am so glad it didn't take long for Harry to meet Phil and know about him and Jess. The characters were so well developed and you could feel every emotion. I laughed, I cried, I even got hot and bothered, and I felt the love. This was such a great story and now I am hooked on this author. I only wish there would have been an epilogue to see how the rest of their futures turned out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • A tear jerker and emotional roller-coaster

Phew! I have to say honestly that I spent most of my time crying while reading this one. Not sure why it touched me on such a deep emotional level. It was totally heartbreaking for me. Full of anger, resentment, hurt and plagued by 'what ifs'. I felt instant connection with Kara, she's such a great character, full of love, ready and willing to forgive but struggling to forget. But everyone deserves second chance, so would she be willing to give one and to take her life in her hands and be finally happy with what she can have? We are not always granted the second chances, and sometimes it is just too late to take back harsh words or to try to mend broken relationships. But what's done is done and people need to look forward and find a way how to be happy and be there for the others. For me this story is about the rejection, hurt, shows journey back to the family and about many second chances that not many of us is granted. This is my first book of this author and I really enjoyed the writing style. For sure I will read the rest in the series.

  • Captivating & Emotional!!!

This was a compelling and heartbreaking story of second chances and healing. Jessica and Harry were high school sweethearts until an unexpected and unplanned pregnancy tear them apart. Now years later they are reunited and although feelings for each other are still there, heartbreak is still prevalent from their past. The Road Leads Back is filled with heartache, healing, friendship, wit, sass, passion, and love. This is a captivating must read that readers will fall in love with. I absolutely loved this book.
