  • Paranormal Goodness

Wow this is a totally different direction than this author has ever gone before. Same greatness we know and love. Witches, Demons, and Shifters make this a superb paranormal adventure. Lenore is a witch and she is the Sacrifice of her generation. I had always been a headstrong child. I was a girl with far too many opinions, and far too few inhibitions. I was always running when told to walk, singing when I was told to be silent, proud when I was told to be humble. Lucus is a Demon and when they come together sparks fly!! Lots of other characters for future books. Love it!!

  • Great start to a series

The Sacrifice is the first in a motorcycle series by Jessica Gadziala and it was such an interesting introduction to this world. This is a paranormal motorcycle club/witch/devil/werewolves combination that works together. Our main character Lenore has to be sacrificed in order to keep her coven free from attack, and although she doesn’t know what to expect, she also doesn’t want anyone else to suffer. After being taken away from her group, Lenore is placed in a basement until she can be complacent enough to be used by the devils (literally) who’ve taken her from her coven. The devil that has been assigned to making sure the Lenore is cooperative is Lycus, who feels an attraction to her even though he shouldn’t. Lenore is powerful as a witch, controlling the weather and heat. As we move through the series, I think she can develop more powers, as she’s already proven to be very cunning, brave, and curious. The devils needs her power in order to return to their home in hell, and this book presents this as the main point of conflict. Woven into that goal is the background and romance of the characters. Lycus, though he has a rough exterior, proves that he is caring and wants to protect Lenore and make her happy. This is just the beginning of the series, and I almost wish we had another book about Lenore and Lycus, how their love evolved, and how they navigate a new world now that Lenore has a little bit of evil in her. Overall, a great beginning to an exciting series!
