  • Great story

I was intrigued when I read the blurb for The Secret Letters if Olivia Moretti. Having read a number of books by Jennifer Probst I knew reading a book told in multiple points of view would be entertaining. Three sisters, estranged take a trip to the Amalfi Coast to find out more about their mother. Priscilla, Devon, and Bailey haven't been close for years but after their mother’s death they come together to settle her affairs and that is when their journey begins. Finding the deed to a house on the Amalfi Coast and an intriguing letter they decide to visit and search for the answers they need. This journey will affect all three in different ways and secrets will be reveled. Will it bring them together or will it rip them apart once and for all? This book was well written, with story lines that will draw you in and refuse to let you go until the last chapter is read. The journey each sister embarked on was enlightening and heart warming and made for a wonderful read.

  • Loved this Bittersweet Love Story

I absolutely loved The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti by Jennifer Probst; it is an incredible and wonderfully written love story. Jennifer Probst has shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put it down and loved every moment on every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. Each chapter is told from the perspective of one of the sisters, as well as Olivia. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. My favorite moments in The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing out loud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is filled with such moments, and so much more. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Jennifer Probst love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. My favorite part is how Jennifer Probst incorporates the picture on the cover of the book into the story. The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is the story of Olivia Moretti’s three estranged daughters Priscilla (Pris). Devon (Dev) and Bailey (Bae). Following the unexpected death of their mother, Olivia, Pris, Dev, and Bae return to their childhood home to clean out Olivia’s belonging to get it ready to put it on the market. In her bedroom closet they find a trunk that contains love letter from “R” underneath of a blanket along with the deed to a house in Positano, Italy. The last letter from R, has him agreeing to meet Olivia in Positano on her sixty-fifth birthday on May 25, which occurred after her February death. The sisters decide to head to Positano each for their own reasons, to look at the house with the possibility of selling it. Pris, Dev, and Bae did not know of the existence of this home or their mother’s great love for “R”. With letters in hand, they head to Positano in search of “R”. I love how they go about their search for “R” and how many setbacks they encountered. I love how the relationship between the sisters changed as they spent more time together, and the changes that they were willing to make in their own lives after spending time in Positano, where they all feel so much closer to Olivia. I love the chapters that are told from Olivia’s perspective and how they detail her relationship with “R” and the choices they each made and the decisions they regretted. I love that when the sisters had decided to head home without meeting the elusive “R” he showed up at the house, with his love letters from Olivia and a drawing of him that she did. I loved that The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that all of Olivia’s daughters are facing that need to be resolved, Pris’s issues with her marriage, Dev’s with her career and non-existent love life, and Bae’s fear of commitment to one man. I love the characters and the family dynamic in The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Moretti sisters, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love all the descriptions of the Positano, Italy setting that Jennifer Probst details, it makes me want to visit. My favorite part of the book is the epilogue, I truly love how it goes above and beyond the happy ending, especially the last part told from Olivia’s perspective. The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists. I love the cast of characters in The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti. Who doesn’t love families that come together again after spending time together? I thoroughly enjoyed The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti, who doesn’t love a beautifully written love story? Highly recommend The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti.

  • "This was a forever love."

I was already in love with this book after just reading the dust jacket, and my love only got stronger as I devoured page after page of a beautifully written and touching romance. Positano, Italy is a place I can only dream of visiting, but with Ms. Probst’s descriptive writing, I felt as if I, too, was searching for answers about Olivia’s magical time in Italy. Her summers in Italy with her Aunt Slyvia were a dream come true for her and I was grateful to be along for the ride. The colorful homes nestled in the hillsides, the fragrant flowers and winding roads opened up a whole new world to Olivia. I cannot understand why she neglected to share this part of her life with her daughters. Perhaps she wanted to keep her memories of her summers in Italy to herself so they would remain sacred and untouched by others. I saw myself in all three of the sisters at different stages in my life. Bailey’s carefree attitude called to my younger self as I looked to the future where anything was possible. I appreciated Devon’s attention to detail and her desire to achieve great success in her field, but Priscilla was the sister who I truly understood and could relate to. I felt her pain as she reminisced about her glorious ballet career that she gave up much too soon. She didn’t know who she was now, and I felt she was the sister who would benefit most from their trip. The sisters were awestruck at the beauty of their mother's house, the abundance of color and the peacefulness which surrounded all of them the minute they walked through the door. They could feel their mother's presence in the house and wondered if it held the answers to who their mother really was. Was the young, carefree Olivia the same person who raised them and catered to their every need? Did Olivia ever regret anything about her Positano summers? Would Priscilla, Devon and Bailey find the answers they were looking for? How would their lives change as they spent time together on the magical Amalfi Coast sightseeing, dining on delicious local cuisine and coming to terms with what the future holds for each of them? This book is utter perfection and tugged at my heart in so many ways. The romance and honesty of the love letters brought tears to my eyes and made my heart ache for Olivia and Rafe. I became wistful about the meaning of the letters and grateful that Jennifer Probst had given us this wonderful gift to cherish forever.

  • Italy is always a good idea

The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is a wonderful woman's fiction story about three estranged sisters who traveled to Italy in search of more information regarding their recently deceased mother. Jennifer Probst has a distinctive descriptive way of describing scenes that makes the reader feel part of the experience. Olivia passes away from Pneoumia when her daughters, Priscilla Hampton, Devon, and Bailey Moretti, come together to do the unthinkable go through their mom's stuff to place their childhood home on the market. The girls find a stack of hidden love letters deep within her closet in a chest. The love letters are express so much emotion but signed only with an initial, the sender's mystery begins, and the trip to the Amalfi Coast. Positano holds answers to secrets about the sister's estranged relationship with each other, stuff they never discussed or admitted to themselves, all while trying to find the mystery man. What a fabulous gift to a reader! I loved this story.

  • Beautifully Written Woman’s Fiction

The Secret Love Letters of Olivia Moretti is a beautifully written story about three estranged sisters traveling to Italy to find out information on their recently deceased mother. I was intrigued by Priscilla, Devon and Bailey’s journey, I was excited to see how their journey panned out and all I’m going to say is this book was everything I expected and so much more. Having not seen each other for years it took their mothers passing to bring these sisters together. While settling their mothers affairs they find a deed to a house on the Amati Coast and they decide to take a trip there together but this journey is going to affect each of them in very different ways because of the secrets they are all hiding. So what does the future hold for these siblings, will this trip bring out the sibling love or will it tear them apart…… Ms Probst did a wonderful job describing the Amalfi Coast but she did an even better job in drawing me in with each sisters story. I was captivated from the first few pages and there was no putting down until the final line had been read because I needed to know if these sisters got the future they all deserved. This is a very different read to what I’m used to from Ms Probst but for me this book just proved how diverse and how very talented she is.
