  • A great read

William Chambers, the Duke of Bedford, has just inherited his title and with it a falling down ancestral home along with his late father's gambling debts. He needs money and the only way to avoid ruin and scandal is to marry a woman with a large dowry. He agrees to marry a rich American heiress with the nick name Frosty Fanny sight unseen. Fancesca Winthrop wants to marry for love, but her conceited, social climbing Mother wants a noble title in the family to advance her own standing. Everything is all arranged including the loophole that states: all Frans children are to be educated in America. Now all Fran has to do is become pregnant by her new husband and the sooner the better. Thankfully she gets a bit of help from a courtesan's secret journal. Several incidents cause the Duke to suspect that his new wife may already be carrying another man's child. William decides to wait to consummate his marriage until he can confirm his suspicions which is not easy because his wife knows things a virgin shouldn't know. Avoiding her sexy, sassy, wiles is killing him, especially since she's so determined to seduce him. Can they both put aside their feelings and truly fall in love? Will their pasts rear up and threaten that love? Donna MacMeans writes an amazing book that will keep you entranced the whole time. Ms MacMeans throws in a suprise ending that will knock your socks off. I know I was not expecting it. All in all I recommend this book to readers everywhere. So enjoy!
