    Sweet Romance

I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I am cross posting this review to my author blog as it’s a romance title. Do you like sweet romance? Sexy lawmen? A Cajun accent? I have a book you’ll love. The Sheriff’s Little Matchmaker by Carrie Nichols is a lovely sweet romance. Sasha is tired of being that poor widow after her husband was killed in the line of duty, so she moves to Rose Creek, Texas. Remy is the town’s sheriff, and a single father. Evie is his daughter and Sasha’s student–who knows what she wants. Evie orchestrates a meeting between Sasha and Remy, without knowing that Remy was the stranger Sasha had been dared into kissing on a girl’s trip to New Orleans. When Remy sees the mysterious woman who disappeared after a blazing kiss in his daughter’s classroom, he’s thrown. Sasha is torn between shock and embarassment–things like torrid kisses were supposed to stay on vacation where they belong. Sasha and Remy can’t really stay away from each other. Sasha determinedly holds the line of “I’m your daughter’s teacher, I can’t date a parent,” although it’s a losing battle. But step by step, the sexy sheriff breaks down her walls. Which leaves the question of whether Sasha can bear to give her heart to another lawman, and if Remy wants more than just a mother for his daughter. The sexual chemistry between Sasha and Remy is electric. There is a steady build, and in any other book they would’ve fallen into bed within the first quarter of the book given that chemistry. I kept rooting for sex, and (spoiler) there is one sex scene, but it’s all off page, which is a bit of a disappointment. The way the sex scene is handled is a bit disappointing because it’s quite rushed, and not just because they’re lusting for each other and the sex happens off stage. There could’ve been a longer scene there to rebuild the tension that had deflated in the time since their last encounter. We get to see the events through both Sasha and Remy’s points of view. Unfortunately there were time when I got a bit confused who’s point of view we were in. The judicious use of Evie, Remy’s daughter/Sasha’s student is well done. Too often kids speak in inauthentic ways, but I think Evie is just about right (I have a daughter who is older than Evie and one who’s a bit younger). She’s obsessed with Sasha’s cat, loves Eloise, and is very interested in Sasha becoming her new mom. (Remy and her mom divorced when she was young.) My only real complaint is that Sasha keeps saying she won’t let a dominant personality dictate her actions, but that isn’t quite what happens. Remy is very much an alpha/in charge kind of character and for the most part Sasha gives in. I would have liked a little more spine.

    Sweet read

This is a wonderful story that is cute, sweet and full of goodness and fun. I loved these characters especially little Evie and all her matchmaking ways. Remy is so fantastic and Sasha is a good fit for him although she tries to keep him at arms length. First of all he's a single dad of one of her students and that's a big no-no. Secondly, he's a lawman and she's vowed never to get entangled with one again. Been there, done that, had the painful loss to prove it. Sasha and Remy don't stand a chance when Remy's daughter Evie decides Sasha will make the perfect mom. She pulls out all the trick to get them together and she definitely makes this story. Trust me you don't want to miss this little matchmaker! I highly recommend it.

    Sweet, feel good Contemporary Romance!

The Sheriff’s Little Matchmaker by Carrie Nichols is a sweet, clean, feel good story of love, and life, set against a small town background, in Rose Creek, Texas. Features, Sheriff Remy Fontenot, teacher Sasha Honeycutt, a 7 year old, Evie, sassy banter, sweet romance and a little girl determined to match her father with her new teacher. Would make a great Lifetime or Hallmark movie. Definitely, a feel good read! I enjoyed the characters and the plot, the sweetness of the two made for enjoyable reading. A quick read, perfect for a rainy day or on a chilly Autumn night. Thus was my first reading anything from this author, and I enjoyed this one. Plan to read more from Carrie Nichols. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review.” Rating: 4 Heat rating: Sweet Reviewer: AprilR

    Sweet, feel good romance

This is a sweet, feel good romance that made me smile. I loved Sasha, the police widow who struggles to get her life back after becoming a police widow. years before. Her small town kept her trapped and "untouchable" as a widow, so she moved across the country to start over in a different small town. She has sworn off getting involved with police officers, but one of her students engineers a meeting with Remy, the local sheriff and all around good guy loved by the community. Sparks flew between Remy and Sasha and I loved the struggle that each felt both individually and together. If you are looking for an engaging and fun tale, you have found it in this book. It's refreshing to read such a delightful story that is absent any swearing or sex (just one suggestion of it). This grandma loved this novel, but you could also let your teen read it without worrying about the content. This is the first book I've read by this author, but I'm looking forward to reading more by her.

Cute cast, cute story and an enjoyable read.

The Sheriff's Little Matchmaker was a solid 3.5 star read for me. I found it cute and endearing with a young girl, 7, trying to match up her idolized hot new teacher with her divorcee dad. Some hemming and hawing on both sides being the only obstacle in the couples way. Cute cast, cute story and an enjoyable read. I received this ARC copy of The Sheriff's Little Matchmaker from Entangled Publishing, LLC - Bliss. This is my honest and voluntary review.
