    quick and witty

Goodger’s writing is quick and witty, her characters are entertaining and realistic, and the romance is both sweet and sexy. If you like your romances packed full of lords and ladies, The Spinster Bride is a fantastic choice. A little ill-fated love and some romantic ingenuity blend perfectly to create a decidedly enjoyable love story. Full review available at Romantic Reads and Such on wordpress. Fun, fast, and more than a little far-fetched

If you are a stickler for accuracy (or even plausibility) in your historical fiction, this is not the book for you. The characters speak, think and act in ways that would be simply unfathomable in Victorian England. But if you can enjoy the story without being troubled by such considerations - accepting the time period as no more than a backdrop to what is essentially a contemporary romance novel - it really is a fun, fast read. The characters are engaging, the dialogue is quick and often witty, and the complications that arise as the story evolves are enough to keep you reading, without ever becoming too heavy. I found this a delightful vacation read, once I let go of the need to mentally edit it to make the dialogue and characters more authentically Victorian.

    Enjoyed!!

Received this story as a gift for an honest opinion. The Spinister Bride had me smiling through the whole story. I was also rooting for the main characters Charles and Marjorie to admit their feelings . Would definitely read this book again. I have found another favorite. Loved it!!

Very enjoyable. Wasn’t sure right at the beginning with the dynamic between the leads. But I got hooked and literally did not put it down until I was done.
