    A modern day Little Women

A retelling of Little women . A story of a woman and her 4 daughters and how they come about in age when their mom is struggling at home as  dad is away serving the country. The story is interesting in the sense the daily struggles of teenage girls, their budding awareness of their sexuality, their surroundings and entailing realizations I found the characters not clearly etched, but thats just me. Meg is the eldest , she's supposedly the leader and her mom's shoulder to prop on. But her physical attributes fascinated the writer more than her moral attitudes. She's a bit promiscuous and is very aware of her effects on boys Amy , though plainer in comparison, is by no means less attractive . She generally follows Meg Jo is really wild in her imagination and attitude. Materialistic to a fault, she comes across a tad too insensitive at times. And she's a potty mouth !!! Very outspoken and opinionated, she can argue !! Beth is the Baby and adorable I'm going to be honest and say , calling their mom Meredith or marmee,  irritated me a bit All in all interesting story Just my opinion -Classics shouldn't be messed with. End of !  Please go ahead and enjoy the book 3.5 stars

I really enjoyed Todd's Spring Girls

I wasn’t sure how to feel about a book that compares itself to a classic. But I really enjoyed Todd’s Spring Girls. She does a great job depicting the lives of a family full of very individual teen girls. Each girl coming of age at different stages yet all dealing with living the life of a military. I really liked this book but I can’t say it compares to the classic Little Women. ~ A Bibliophile ❤️📚

I am keeping this story near and dear to my heart!

I first read Anna Todd books in her "After" series and was very interested in what she would bring us with her newest book coming up. The Spring Girls. WOW! I am amazed how much I loved this book. I have never read Little Woman, but I get the whole picture now. I love the Spring sisters. My heart broke for their mother. Even though she had her own demons, she loved her girls whole heartily. Their dad did what he could do. The heartbreak this family goes through is gut wrenching when he is sent home. This story is about a family bond. Anna shows us how military life is not all that it is cut out to be. There is so much more that our heroes have to go through besides defending our country. This brings so much more perspective for the military families that live this life. The bond of sisters made my heart warm and fuzzy. The fighting, the drama, and the growing pains are all there. What a great book to read over a weekend or two! I love Anna's books, but she had brought her writing to a new level that will stay in your hearts way after you finish reading the last page.
