    Introducing an amazing new world

Again Golden has introduced us to this amazing and fantastical world. The Steam Tycoon is not a book I would normally pick up, (I have no prior knowledge of Steampunk at all) but being I was so thrilled with his Journeyman Series I could not resist. This book is like non existent I have ever read before. His attention to detail, ability to allow the reader to experience a book with all of his/her senses I absolutely amazing! He has taken a genre and brought it to life in a way that makes you feel as if you are watching a movie, or actually there with the characters. He brings his characters to life, it is as if you know them, love them, hate them. Jenny, Jesse, Aero and Aftershock, just to name a few....are brought to life so vividly there is no question who they are or what their importance is within this story. I cannot wait for the next book in this dramatic and unbelievably interesting book in the series! So give it a chance, you will not be disappointed!

    Not What I Expected

I was disappointed because this novel did not appear to be what Kobo portrayed it as. I'm not sure if this was a self-published book, but it was badly in need of an editor. There were many mistakes-- missing words, misused words, and confusing grammatical constructions. As a story, it seemed the author made an attempt at world -building but then quickly lost interest. It also seemed to be intended as a YA romance but then there were two graphic sex scenes with a gay character (who was also completely evil) that seemed very out of place and also came off as homophobic. Some editing/proofreading would have made it a mediocre but okay steampunk novel.
