  • Amazing!

I haven’t read a trilogy that pulled me in so effectively in a very long time. The emotions and storytelling weave together seamlessly. I can’t recommend this entire trilogy enough.

  • Deep Ending

An epic, emotional finale to one of the most complex books I've ever read. The collision of this mother and daughter, told from three unique perspectives, is memorable and majestic in all the right ways. This series and the author have such memorable voices that I know it will stick with me for a long time. Nassun and Essun are such complex women who make choices based on not just what they believe to be right, but on their surroundings as well. And this book is bleak. Even at the end, there are unexpected sacrifices and drama that make for a bittersweet but poignant climax. The mythology and lore is expanded on and tie into the themes of the book, though Jemisin is certain to pack in countless moments of character development, relationship, and revelation. I've wanted to read this series for so long and I'm so glad to have finally completed it. Challenging as it might be, I've truly never read anything like it and am dying to see what this talented author brings the world next!

    Thanks for your feedback!
