    Great Read!

The Study Of Seduction, book two in Sabrina Jeffries' Sinful Suitors series, bestows love on two people well deserving of a happily ever after! Ms. Jeffries’ acumen at creating a natural flow of interaction between her characters, alternating between animated banter and earnest conversation, were at their best in her latest work. A black and white hero epitomizes the saying still waters run deep as he grasp at a chance to capture the woman who has intrigued him for years and reaches outside of his comfort zones. Impeded by a long held debilitating secret Lady Clarissa Lindsey voluntarily put herself on the shelf despite having a joie de vivre few can compare to. When a stalker preys upon the heroine the forward thinking and capable hero, Edwin Barlow the Earl of Blakeborough, takes control of the situation and the lady's heart in a manner that will leave readers sighing at his gallantry. A writer who has long stood at the top of her genre Sabrina Jeffries has given voice to serious subjects in a tasteful and thoughtful manner in her eloquently written story of love overcoming dark deeds. *I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* *While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone.*

    Dark and Enlightened

If your a historical romance fan, you won't be disappointed with The Study of Seduction. Although it's a little dark, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. There's nothing light or whimsical about a stalker. If Ms. Jeffries had tried to write it that way, the story would have been insulting to victims, no matter what decade or century. Instead she delved into the subject matter and wrote a fascinating novel about an age-old crime and the impact it has on its victim. Thank you, Ms. Jeffries! Edwin and Clarissa are the perfect couple to challenge society's beliefs and make a stand for true love!

    Stupendous!

Based on the first book in this series, I knew THE STUDY OF SEDUCTION would be good, but I was wrong; it is stupendous! The St. George Club was formed by four friends who met in Oxford; their aim is to protect women from rakes and fortune hunters. The Marquess of Knightsford is one of those men: he asks his friend Edwin Barlow, the Earl of Blakeborough, to escort his cousin Lady Clarissa Lindsey throughout the London Season. The unsavoury Count Durand, attached to the French Embassy, has been relentlessly harassing Clarissa, even after she bluntly refused his marriage proposal. Edwin has been a friend of Clarissa’s family for a long time; she’s as effervescent as he’s rigid, and she loves to taunt him to see if she can thaw his cool demeanour. However, secrets from both their pasts push them into a marriage of convenience, and I will say no more about this supremely intricate and wonderfully plotted story. THE STUDY OF SEDUCTION is storytelling at its very best, and Ms. Jeffries demonstrates how brilliant a wordsmith she is: the dialogues are brilliant, and the banter between Edwin and Clarissa is beyond compare. The author’s attention to detail is exemplary when it comes to her vivid descriptions of automatons and the theatre, among many other things. THE STUDY OF SEDUCTION is book 2 in the Sinful Suitors series, and one part of the story arc that started in the first book comes to an explosive conclusion with revelations that left me gasping, while others had me tearing up; and still, this book can be read as a standalone. Edwin and Clarissa are profoundly endearing, exceptionally drawn, their story so compelling that I never stopped reading. In some places, I laughed myself silly, while in others, I wanted to embrace the characters and ease their pain. Edwin is a gentleman, a gentle man, and Clarissa is strong and extremely appealing. I cannot wait for the next instalment of The Sinful Suitors! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    A Clever Historical Romance

The Study of Seduction by Sabrina Jeffries is a clever historical romance. This is the second book in the Sinful Suitors series but can be read as a standalone book. I found myself caught up in the story and the characters. Edwin and Clarissa are very likable couple whom you find yourself pulling for. Who can resist a tale involving silly hats, a duel and automatons? I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
