    Thanks for your feedback!

This is an insightful, inspiring and informative book on writing fiction. It is a revised edition of his earlier book, "Lessons from a Lifetime of Writing." The former professor of American literature and engaging lecturer skillfully uses his own anecdotes and quotes and those of other writers to illustrate his lessons. Although he is the author of bestselling thrillers, including "First Blood" that started the Rambo franchise, he doesn't favor any one genre. All fiction writers will glean something of value from his book. He also gives some practical advice about the commercial side of writing, such as dealing with agents, publishers and movie producers. I highly recommend adding this book to your reference collection. Some required updating and correction of typos prevented me from giving it a 5/5 rating.
