  • Brilliant!

This book is a perfect example of everything I love about historical romance: brilliant characters, a steamy romance between a hero and heroine who grow to truly love and appreciate one another, a rich cast of side characters, and a wonderfully built world. I can't wait to see what else is in store for this series!

  • You can't keep a good Scotsman down

This is the second story in the Midnight in Scotland series by one of my favorite authors, Elisa Braden. This is the story of Kate Huxley , the last of the Huxley to get married, and Broderick MacPherson, In the first series we met the McPherson brothers and Broderick was beaten to within an inch of his life by an unknown foe and imprisoned. He survived but is horribly scared and bitter, his one aim in life is to get revenge. Kate is writing an opera/ book, she hasn't made up her mind yet what it will be. She gets lost one afternoon while sketching . Wandering in the dark, she comes upon a monster beating the living daylites out of a man, and she is chased by this monster. That is all I am going to reveal. I wished the author had gone a bit more into Kate's healing after being stuffed in a whiskey barrel and how Broderick would have helped with this, as he spent a lot of time in the dungeon in isolation and dark. I am waiting for the next in this series, which is about Campbell McPherson..
