Margaret Atwood Has Done It Again!

Finished this book right after my re-read of The Handmaid's Tale and I must say Margaret Atwood did not disappoint. This book was great and answered a lot of questions left unanswered after the first novel. Highly recommend The Testaments.

    The Testaments

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. I feel closure after reading the first novel and watching 3 seasons of the show Handmaid's Tale. Brilliantly writing connecting characters together. Satisfying.

    As hoped for

Not always have I loved every page of an Atwood book but I did this time. Although The Handmaid's Tale is excellent and plausible it didn't seem resolved the me and following the tv series didn't quite fit my expectations. But now I see where Atwood wanted the story to go. I bought this book on the day it was released and was hopeful it would conclude the story satisfactorily. It did. Great plausible ending.

    Worthy of its fame

Enjoyed it immensely, more than Handmaids Tale. Perhaps as I read it in a few bursts. The plot is complex and the detailing men’s a re read of the two books would be worthwhile.

    Great sequel and relevant

This book really expanded on the world of the Handmaid's Tale. It delved into some of the more mysterious characters. It provided the perspectives of women from different generations... and how a dramatic change in the ideology of one's government can effect an individual on many levels. Atwood's writing was very direct and accessible in this novel, she usually hides her meaning in many layers. I enjoyed her directness. She is the master of cautionary tales.
