    Great intro to series

I really like how the first novel takes place in a location far removed from where the main plot of the series seems to be centered. It works well for introducing the reader to the world of the shadow campaigns bit by bit. Characters are awesome and I'm looking forwards to seeing how they grow in the next novel

    The Thousand Names

Excellent, strong, believable characters (both main and supporting and the dynamics in between). Enjoyed the humour. Although I’m more into character development and great plots ... and not so much into battles ... I learned from the description of tactics and strategies. That being said, I hope #2 has more around dynamics between characters and less battle scenes.

    Thousand Names

Great gripping. Couldn't put it down. I need the sequel today. A mixture of military fiction politics and just a touch of magic and fantasy. Suspenseful with occasional busts of humour. Likable characters and plenty of surprises as well.

    Excellent!

This book has been on the list of my Kobo recommended titles for quite a while. Now that I've finally read it, I'm sorry that I didn't read it sooner. A great mix of well written characters and a story line that's difficult to predict made this a truly enjoyable read. I haven't finished reading a book so quickly in a long time. This book grabs you at the beginning, and won't let you put it down until you get to the final page.
