    Want Next Book Now!

3.5 stars. The Trouble With Twelfth Grave is the twelfth book in the Charley Davidson series. This can be read as a standalone but all of the books build on the main storyline so I encourage you to read these books in order. Those book ends in a cliffhanger. There is violence and hot steamy sex scenes so 18+. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. The storyline is predictable and typical of the other books in the series. But this book is still worth reading, especially if you are a Charley Davidson fan like I am. I will continue to read the more of the series when they are written. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and chose to leave a review for other readers.

The Trouble with the Twelfth Grave by Darynda Jone

The Trouble With the Twelfth Grave by Darynda Jones 12th Book in the paranormal / urban fantasy series. Must read the prior books before this one. Charlie sees dead people. She is the Grim Reaper after all. This book has ghosts, demons, gods and so much more. Lots of dark sarcastic humor including chapter titles. I don’t want to include spoilers, so if you’ve read this series, know that you are going to read this in one sitting and immediately go to order the next. If you haven’t read this series yet, there will be 13 in total. It’s a bit irreverent, quite a bit of mystery solving, otherworldly and so much fun. Dark too. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy.

    TV Series Worthy!

WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF THIS SERIES? Characters, Humor, Story, Paranormal Flavor, Mystery, Heart, gods, demons, ghosts, and always surprises! Jones starts each chapter with a quote from a t-shirt, bumper sticker, or just a true fact. These I read out loud to my husband on occasion. Won't say they are the best part of the series but they are note worthy. Charlie Davidson is a detective, daughter, niece, best friend, wife, mother, and Oh Yeah the grim reaper and a god. With twelve books so far in this series the characters are a part of the reader's life. Even though the story line is amazing it is the writing style and talent of Darynda that shines the brightest. Warning!! This is not a stand alone nor would you want it to be. Ask for this series for Christmas or a gift. It lacks for nothing. "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martin's Press via NetGalley with no requirement for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

    The Trouble with Twelfth Grave

Charley Davidson is back in a non-stop action filled adventure that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. If I had only one word to describe this book, I would have to go with unpredictable but luckily I have more than one word because this book is worth many more. The unpredictable word is very fitting because there are many twists and turns and a conclusion that will knock your socks off because I sure didn’t see that one coming. I have to admit that for the majority of the book I didn’t see how Charley could possible come out on top of the latest troubles in her world which kept me glued to the pages as Charley and all the other wonderful characters set about not only saving the world but also saving Charley’s family. It is a bit of a roller coaster ride with lots of hair raising thrills and chills and of course snarky dialogue that catches you unaware and startles a laugh out of you because of Charley’s unique view of the world and how everyone fits in it. This book doesn’t have a lot of romance scenes but hey how much more romantic can it be when one has to save the love of her life from certain death. Once again, Darynda Jones has written a funny but electrifyingly exciting book that readers can’t put down and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in Charley’s world. One last thing, for those of you who have not read the previous books, then you could become a bit lost because you missed the events that let up to this point and also because Charley’s penchant for renaming people and things may throw you off somewhat besides you would be missing out on Charley’s fun, thrilling adventure of a life.
