    Hard to put down!

Initially I hesitated to try this author because I'd seen reviews of her first in this series that stated her book contained more sex than story, but the 'forced to marry' theme is one I really like so I decided to chance it. And I am so glad I did. Lady Jane and Blackmore are great characters, each with their own issues to overcome if they are to have any chance at an Happily Ever After. Part of what makes this book so hard to put down is that both are such good people, yet neither really believes they deserve the best in life. It didn't take long to get invested in the characters and what they were going through. If you are looking for a clean read, this definitely is not it. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend reading this story. Now that I have I want to read EB's first book about Blackmore's sister.

Easy to read, interesting, & heated

In many ways this is a typical regency romance, but the prose flows better than many I have read, and the sizzle scorches a bit more sizzling than I usually see in a male-female romance. Overall, I found the background plot to be more entertaining than I expected, the physical intimacy to be a bit more explicitly heated, but the relationship chemistry between the protagonists to be a bit uneven at times. A diverting read for those looking for a well-written, nicely heated, but relatively traditional male/female roles in a regency romance.
