    The Truth

In truth, this is one of the most infantile books I have ever read. It is a cross between a Boys Own story and a French Bedroom Farce (without the bedroom but certainly with too many doors for the characters to flit in and out of) The dialog is stilted and the individuals are not believable. It is a total waste of time and the author should read many GOOD books on character and place before he puts pen to paper again.

    Just.. meh?

I had high expectations for this book, and I'm hoping it's just the translation that doesn't come across. Overall the story was fine and kept me reading until the end. I read it on vacation and it certainly let me get involved in this world and lose myself in it, which is truly the purpose of books. It makes me wish I could read another language so I could properly compare it to the way it was meant to be read. But if you’re looking for something to escape into this summer, this is will do nicely.

    Great read, so many twists

Had me hooked from the beginning, loved all the twists in this book, kept me going until the very last page.

The truth about the Harry Quebert af

Its hard to believe this is Dickers first novel. Written in a bit of a schmatsie style, I was easily able to tolerate that as this book is so cleverly written. A brilliant well thought out chess game like plot, it will be interasting to see if Dicker has the ability to pull it off again. 5 stars on every level. Highly remmended

    The Truth about this book

This was a HUGE hit in lots of countries, in lots of languages so maybe it was the hype but...I thought it was good but was expecting GREAT if that makes sense. Perhaps, too, the issue is the fact this is a story set in Maine, by an author who is French....so, America as seen through the eyes of someone not American. It was a good read, I'd recommend it, but it wasn't the great book the international reviewers said it was. IMHO.
